Little Actions Add Up 🕯️ The Eight of Wands Reversed
Tarot for the week of 06/03/23 🗝️Find the key that helps you open up and work a little Virgo Full Moon Magic
I'm back, witches.
Sorry for the lateness of this email, for the lack of one last week. Sadly I had a massive ear infection most of last week, I could barely stand, let alone type an email.
But this week I'm back and the cards are coming to you live from the Lake Shore Limited. A beautiful Amtrak train heading from my family in Rhode Island to my farming future in Michigan. Only 14 hours of train travel to go. The perfect time to bring you a little tarot.
Tarot for the week of 06/03/2023: Eight of Wands reversed
This week's card is one with no figures on it, a simple one. In the background are rolling hills, a blue sky, a lush river or lake. In the foreground fly eight wands. They come in from the top left towards the bottom right.
With the wands being associated with the element of fire and the actions we take, this card is one of movement. Of change. Of collective action
.
When I look at the various wands in this card, bisecting the view, I see that they have no wielders. They are working on their own now. As if something has been put into motion and is now difficult to stop. I also see the four wands on top, with one a little further behind the last one. Below that are two sets of two wands. I think of this as splinter groups and people coming into an action a little later than others. We each have our own part to play, the sum of all our action.
But yet, this card is in reverse. The wands I see in this way, slipping away the obstacles as if by some unseen force. This week should feel like things fall into place, like the pins in a lock, until click a door opens up.
What matters is finding the key, trusting the process we are each going through. The key for some is taking no action, letting things line up all on their own. For others it is seeing out groups with similar motives or interests.
As the barriers slip away the beautiful peaceful scene is revealed. If it feels, this week, like things are becoming easier, lean into that. Allow the ease to come. Allow the blocks to fall away.
The full moon this week is in Virgo, a powerful time for lining up the year ahead. For stepping into a place of alignment. This year is ruled by the chariot card. Chariots work best when they have a clear path, when they are kept on track they are unstoppable. Think of this full moon as a time to focus on habits and practices that help keep you in line.
This doesn't have to be built on shame or have-tos. Don't make yourself exercise if it's not feeling right, don't tie yourself into a diet or other restrictions. Instead think of what keeps you hopeful, how you recharge. Build time into your schedule for joy, for rest, for community, for learning something new. Take the little daily tasks that add up and let them build some amazing momentum.
Journal prompts for 06/03/23 & the Virgo Full Moon 🌕
Where am I feeling ease? How can I lean into this ease? Where can make things simpler? How can I bring ease to others?
When am I feeling the most charged? How can I build on that feeling? What practices do I need to cultivate to keep me aligned? How can I make difficult tasks more manageable? What small things do I want to commit to? Where could I see them leading? How can I cultivate that feeling in the now?
